My name is Rachel Millner,
and together (unofficially) with my mum Adriane, we are
RYSUP Keeshonden and
Lhasa Apsos.
I am 27 years old, and
whilst a qualified High School teacher, I currently run and own a mobile
dog grooming business.
I live with my partner
Michael in Castle Hill, Sydney, Australia
It all started back in
1989 when the new puppy next door snuck under our fence and ended up
spending the day with my mum. That puppy was a Keeshond, and
from there we have never looked back.
Our first Kees came home early in 1990. That was
Tom
. Our foundation bitch followed in 1992. All
of a sudden we were going to dog shows and soon we were bitten
by the bug! We bred our first litter in 1994, and just 10
months later made up our first home bred champion. She later
went on to become a Grand Champion.
After we started
showing we fell in love with the breed that followed ours
in the ring - the Lhasa Apso. We especially admired one
young import being campaigned at that time, and so it came about
that we placed an order for one of his sons.
Early in 1996 our first Lhasa came home.
We currently have 5 Keeshonden
and 6 Lhasa Apsos (3 new borns!) in residence here with us,
and my mum is caretaker of two Lhasa Apsos!
We also share our home with Hugo, the
Cockatiel, and a "herd" of Guinea Pigs.
We like to work very closely
with our mentors when breeding. They are, in Keeshonden,
Ray & Marilyn Parker, Rymiska Keeshonden. And in Lhasa's,
Lyn Mitchell, Shira Lhasa Apsos and Jenny Longmire, Amesen Lhasa
Apsos.
