Jessie is a stunning bitch. From day one she was the pick
of her litter. But fate dealt Jess a bad hand, for when she was
just 3 months old, she damanged her sciatic nerve causing temporary
paralysis to one of her rear legs. An emergency trip to our
chiropractor on Christmas Day, saw her leg movement returned, but
her tailset was permanently marred. So we kept Jess to breed
from, and in September 1998 she whelped us a gorgeous litter of 6 little
girls. Our pick bitch was Echo, and she was shaping up to be everything
her mum was and then some, but fate dealt another blow, and Echo came
down with a gastric bug during a heatwave and passed away at just 4
1/2 months of age.
Since then we have been hoping to breed Jessie again. However
just recently she again damaged her sciatic, this time causing almost
full paralysis. This time she has been slow to recover, but is making
marked improvements each day. With weekly (and sometimes more
often) trips to the chiropractor, she is now able to get about, albeit
painfully.
If Jessie improves enough we may consider trying for
that one last litter, but she will only be 100% fit before we do
that.
