Belle

Belle

Belle had an exciting show career for a beginner (her AND me).  She gave me so much in the ring and at home.  She was simply a joy to have around.  From multiple Baby Puppy in Show wins on to Best Exhibit in Specialty Show at just 16 months of age, I thought there was not much more she could achieve.  In January 1998, she became one of the first Grand Champion Keeshonden in Australia, the FIRST bitch to achieve this title, and it is merely the fact that the title was not brought into effect until 1/1/98 that she is not counted as one of the youngest to gain the title as well.

During her career she dazzled many.  In 1995 she won her BISS award, it
was also that year that she won her first Best Exhibit in Group award.  Her specialty wins amounted to 3 Challenge Certificates, one BIS, and one Runner Up to Best in Show .   In 1998 she was the first bitch to win the coveted Kendari Encouragement Trophy and the Colijn Bitch Trophy in the same year.  She beat 7 top winning males to achieve this.
Belle

We retired her from the ring a few months after she gained her Grand Champion title, to give the younger bitches a go.  She became a loving house pet, loving to ride in the car and just be a part of our family.

On the 29th December 2000 Belle suddenly passed away, at just 6 1/2 years old.  She never produced any puppies, and as such left a huge hole in our hearts.
